Photography Contest: LIFE Magazine Cover

After reading about Gordon Parks, everybuggy wanted to pick up a camera. For this month’s contest, Cricket thought it would be cool if kids sent in photographs that would look great on the cover of Life magazine. Your photograph can be of anything. As Gordon Parks said, your camera “can show things you like about the universe, things you hate about the universe. It’s capable of doing both.” You can even add a short headline or title to your photograph, but it’s not necessary. A picture can say it all.

So, what’s your beat? Sports? Fashion? Science? Will you capture a newsworthy event in your town or take a funny picture for your Life cover? Perhaps like Casey in “Girl Wears Tie, Says Hi,” your journalistic spirit will drive you to expose something you think is a little wrong about the world and needs improvement. The choice is yours! Just be sure to send us your very best photograph—only one, please. Everybuggy in Cricket Country will be crowding the newsstands to get a look at your cover photograph for Life.
