Photography Contest: Summer!

The cool flip-flops on our cover really screamed “Summer’s here!” to Marty, who remembered that summertime is always a great time for a photography contest. Everybuggy is outdoors, enjoying the long days and sunshine, exploring new places on vacation, or splashing in the pool. So for this month’s contest, Marty suggested that you submit your very best photograph--just one, please--of whatever screams “Summer!” to you.

Will you photograph a Fourth of July picnic? Or a day at the beach? (Don’t forget Tater’s shark repellent!) Or a quiet time reading in the shade of tree? Whatever you choose, everybuggy will be sauntering slowly and lazily to the Cricket Country mailbox in the sweltering heat to see your cool (or hot!) summer photos.

    Here are the only rules: (Hide Rules)
    1. Your contest entry must be your very own original work. Ideas and words should not be copied.
    2. If you're 14 years old or younger and are submitting your entry by mail, it must be signed by your parent or guardian, saying it is your own original work, that no help was given, and granting Cricket permission to publish prizewinning entries in the November/December 2009 issue or on our Web site. If you're older than 14 and submitting your entry by mail, you must sign your own work, verifying that it is original. If you are submitting your entry online, follow the procedure for confirming that the work is original and granting Cricket permission to publish it.
    3. Be sure to include your name, age, and full address on your entry.
    4. Only one entry per person, please.
    5. If you mail your entry and want your work returned, enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope for each entry.
    6. Incomplete entries cannot be considered. Your entry will be incomplete if you forget to include your age or, on mailed entries, a signature verifying that your work is original.
    7. Your entry must be received by 25 July 2009.
