Contests

Poetry Contest: Bugs

What Cricket reader doesn’t love bugs (at least the ones in magazines)? And this issue is crawling with them. Bugs in art, bugs in potatoes, even famous bugs in history. Of course, everybuggy in Cricket Country was buggy about their cousins receiving so much attention. So Pudding suggested that poems about bugs would make a great contest.

Will you write an ode in praise of insects? Or a poem about a funny encounter with a bug? Will your poem be inspired by the beauty of insects, or by the memory of being stung or frightened by a pesky petite pest? You can write about a real or rare insect, or about one that exists only in your imagination. The choice is yours (and there are millions and millions of bugs to choose from).

So, find your buggy muse and send us your very best poem of 24 lines or less. Everybuggy in Cricket Country will be swarming to the mailbox to read how they and their cousins have inspired your verse.
