Poetry Contest: Celestial Sky

Who hasn’t gazed in wonder up at the sky, looking at passing clouds and birds, or the stars at night? You don’t have to look upward all the time, like Skyman, or ascend in Tater’s balloon or a glider plane to be inspired by the view. So this month, everybuggy agreed that the sky would be just the right lofty inspiration for a poetry contest that would rise to new heights.

Will you imagine in your poem what it’s like to fly like the hawk and the eagle? Or to live in a magic city in the clouds? Will your verse soar into space to dance among the stars? Or explore a thunderstorm forming? Will something fall from the sky to inspire you? Or will you dream of some unusual sky-creature flying there? The choice is yours.

Just send us your very best poem of 24 lines or less about the sky or something in it, real or imagined. Everybuggy will be lying on their backs around the Cricket Country mailbox, lazily gazing into the wild blue yonder, waiting for your celestial sky poetry to descend.
