Story Contest: Dragon Tales

Everybuggy so loved the cool dragons on the cover of Cricket this month! Why are those dragons gathering? What could their magic be? There are dragons inside the issue, too. “On Uppermost Winds,” Asyra takes on the awesome task of bringing a dragon back from extinction. And in “The Tiger Fortune Princess,” Wen-Xiu must ride the tail of the dragon to escape a terrible fate. So obviously, for this month’s contest, everybuggy wants to read your best story with a dragon.

Will you write about a dragon that is dangerous or helpful? Fierce and fiery? Or clever and beautiful? Will your dragon be the villain or hero of your story? Will the monster threaten innocent villagers? Guard a royal treasure? Or perhaps hold the key to ancient wisdom or a powerful secret? Will magic or a mysterious prophecy be associated with your dragon?

Whether your story takes place in long-ago times, or in a space-age future, or perhaps in some place that exists only in your imagination, everybuggy will be brandishing their enchanted swords and mumbling magic spells around the Cricket Country mailbox, hoping to conjure your very best dragon story of 350 words or less. Hiss and roooaaar!
