Story Contest: Sweet Dreams

Have you ever been chased by a crocodile? Or ridden a pink unicorn? Or stood on top of Mount Everest in a tuxedo? Maybe in your dreams.

Many cultures have believed that dreams contain hidden meanings or foretell the future—as Little Owl’s dreams do in “The Dream Basket.” Some real-life mathematicians and scientists have even discovered clues to solving difficult problems in their dreams. Whether dreams are weird, or beautiful, or frightening, everybuggy finds them mysterious and intriguing. After reading this month’s issue, Muffin—who dreams mainly of horses, of course—wanted to read your best story about a dream.

Will your dream story be about something you’d love to do or wish could happen? Will there be real people or strange creatures in your dream? Will you be a hero in your dream, or will comical things happen? Maybe you’ll write about someone whose dream helps to solve a problem or avoid disaster. Perhaps you’ll write about a dream that turns out to be a nightmare, as in “Nighttown.”

Whatever you choose, everybuggy will be snoozing peacefully around the Cricket Country mailbox, dreaming about your best story of 350 words or less about a dream. Nighty-night.
