Winter Tale

It’s January, and in Cricket Country a cold wind doth blow. Frost is on the windowpanes, making cool (ha ha!) designs like the frost dragon on our cover. While everybuggy is snuggling around George’s fireplace sipping cocoa, they’d love to read your best tale of an icy winter adventure.

Will you write about a snowy land far to the north, like Lapland in “Aino, Child of the Sea”? Perhaps you’ll imagine a new myth about the Norse gods Thor and Loki, or a tale of Viking explorations you might find recorded on a rune stone. Will you write a thrilling adventure about surviving a winter storm, or about living in an Arctic climate where polar bears roam, or even about Ice Age animals? Maybe you’ll write about a fun time with friends sledding in your backyard or camping on a snowy mountain.

Whether you write a frosty fantasy about a frozen kingdom or a science fiction story about an icy future, everybuggy will be staying warm inside while Cricket chips the ice off the Cricket Country mailbox, waiting for the arrival of your best winter tale of 350 words or less. Brrr!
