Cricket, the Survivor

The computer, a new god, is rising.
A bookstore closed just yesterday.
Poor magazines are becoming extinct.
But is it true that one has stayed?

My mother read it in the ’70s,
She passed it on to me.
This magazine is just wonderful,
Awesome Cricket was meant to be.

But how has it survived, you ask?
Well, Cricket wouldn’t leave without a fight.
With its great stories, poems, jokes, and illustrations
It has us reading from morning to night.

For forty years this great magazine
Has been giving us happiness and joy.
That’s why I want to thank Cricket and say:
Read Cricket, it’s better than a video game or a toy!

Happy 40th Anniversary, Cricket!
