Ode to Everybuggy

When friendly bugs come into my mind,
I always think of these critters, of that kind:

Old Cricket, an ancient bug, and wise,
His facts are seen by many eyes.

Cricket is next, a leader true,
It was not by default the magazine was named after you.

Ladybug thinks she always knows best,
Her quick temper isn’t something to test.

Pussywillow is a sweet and kind friend,
Her loyalty to Ladybug will never end.

Sluggo, the snail, is always nearby, too,
With Tater and Marty to add to the crew.

George is a worm who never will go
Without his best friend (who is his tail, you know).

Pudding, Muffin, and Zoot add to the bunch,
They all watch out for Ugly Bird, he might eat them for lunch.

So let’s give a clap and a whoop and a cheer
To these special buggies, their 40th birthday is this year!
