40 is a number that takes a while to count to.
If you were a writer and you wrote poems and stories for 40 years,
Wouldn’t your hands be tired?
If you had a birthday 40 times,
Wouldn’t you need help blowing out all those candles?
If you had to wait 40 minutes for something,
How would you spend that time?
The hands of the people who have written the poems and stories for Cricket
For the past 40 years,
Their hands will be aching from writing and typing all those words.
When Cricket has its 40th birthday,
Everybuggy will have to help blow out all the candles.
If I had to wait 40 minutes for something,
I would most likely read Cricket, write a song, sing a song, write poems,
Write stories, and then I would type them out on my blue typewriter.
