When Winter Comes

A time of year when the air grows chilly,
With mittens and coats that make you look silly.
When powdery snow hides all that it meets,
And warm fuzzy socks on your ice cold feet.
When stylish snowmen stand tall and grand,
Snowballs and snow forts cover the land.
Wonderful smells of pudding and rice,
Of Gran’s sugar cookies that smell so nice.
When ice skates and snow boots leave prints in the snow,
And crystal-like icicles hang in a row.
Tongues sticking to clear winter ice,
And snow gear you’d pay for at any price.
Steamy hot cocoa warms you up inside,
And all bad moods wash out with the tide.
Snuggling up in a cozy bed,
Winter puts good thoughts in my head!
