Hum of the Holidays

When the snowflakes softly flutter
From heavy drooping boughs
Of frosty silver evergreens
Onto the ground below

When the air is filled with shivers
And chills of spicy cold
When the hills are snowy blankets
It’s exciting to behold

When the flowing of the silver
Streams begin to cease
When the geese are flying Vs
And the ground begins to freeze

The time when brilliant lights
Are hung on frosty limbs
When your ears burst with the sound
Of carols and Christmas hymns

When the menorah’s slowly lit
One each day for a full eight
When thankful prayers float up like smoke
Amidst the wavering candlelight

When the days begin to shorten
Though the darkness holds no fear
Lit up by sparkling fairy lights
The holiday time is here.
