Where Am I Going to Put Them All?

Christmas Day has come and gone,
It sure was a lot of fun
And I received a lot of books
(They number twenty-one).

Twenty-one books and just one shelf,
Already stuffed to the max,
I’m not sure how I’ll keep all these books
Unless I pile them in stacks.

Oh, where am I going to put them all?
I don’t want to sound ungrateful or rude,
But a bookshelf with too many books in it
Is like a stomach with too much food.

Where am I going to put them all?
I know I asked for them all myself,
But that was before I took into account
The amount of space on my shelf.

Cram some in here, cram some in there,
I hope the L section has space to share.
Don’t forget to sort them alphabetically, too.
Uh-oh, eight left over, what’ll I do?

I know where I’ve got to put them all,
In a few days it’ll be my birthday.
I’ll ask for another bookshelf then
And at last put all my books away!
