Dee, the Little White Dragon

Once there was a small dragon called Dee. Now Dee was no ordinary dragon. Her scales were all white, and she looked like a cloud when she flew. None of the dragons wanted to play hide-and-seek with her because it was so hard to find her on a cloud, but they all loved to play tag.

One day Dee and the other dragons were playing tag, when a big, mean red dragon came looking for little dragons to scare away.

All the little dragons started screaming: “Mama, Papa! Mama, Papa!”

Such a racket would have made any dragon mad . . . but not this one. The noise had told him that there were many small dragons here. The red dragon swung this way and that, but all the dragons still stayed where they were.

“Quick, everyone, behind me!” yelled Dee.

All the little dragons flew behind Dee, and she did the best cloud act she had ever done.

The red dragon looked everywhere he could think of, but all he saw was a fluffy white cloud.

The little dragons were safe, and the red one was gone.
