Soul Colour

Far over yonder there lived a little girl named Emma. Emma was a very lifeless girl. You know the type, you might sit next to her every day in class and then a day later forget her entirely. Although Emma’s father loved her deeply, Emma did not care for her father. It was not because he was a bad person but because Emma did not care much for anyone.

Having nothing better to do, Emma sat down and stared at nothing.

A dragon sleeping nearby suddenly awoke. He heard the sound of thousands of comfortable hearts. He listened carefully and heard the sound of a heart that almost was not there.

That night the dragon set out to find the small heart. It did not take long to find Emma, and he knew as soon as he saw her that she was in need of some purple, gold, and green.

And so the dragon’s adventure began through canyons and caves, mountains and valleys. The dragon had almost lost hope when he met a colour bird flying by.

“Oh please,” he said, “could I have just a little bit of your marvelous colour?”

Now there is nothing a bird likes more than compliments, so when the colour bird fluffed her wings to show off she shed quite a few colored feathers. The dragon snatched them and deposited the color in Emma’s soul.

Emma took the dragon home and had dinner with him and her dear father.
