Wedding in Ravello

I was in Ravello, Italy
For my mom’s friend’s wedding
I was so incredibly nervous
My palms even started sweating

I put on a lacy undershirt
And my beautiful flower girl’s dress
While driving to the chapel
I avoided making a mess

I was bouncing up and down
Waiting for my turn to go
I started fiddling with my undershirt
Because everything was going so slow

Once I was called to walk down
I sprang out of my chair, nearly tripping
But upon hearing the whispers and giggles and laughs
I realized that something was slipping

I did my best to ignore them
As I paced back to my seat
I looked down and gaped in horror
At what was around my feet

My undershirt fell, I whispered
As the tears began to fill
So I sat there looking miserable
While wishing I had sat still.
