Spicy!

I take a
bite
of Chinese tofu.

The moment it touches
my mouth, I think
I just swallowed the sun.

My eyes water,
my cheeks are a
crimson red,
and I grab
the cup in front of me.

I chug down
what I think is my juice,
but instead,
I taste
mud.

I ask my mom.
Her face says it all
because she’s
choking with laughter.

I can already
guess.
She tells me it’s
her tea.
