Ms. Sparkles

When I’m back at school in fall,
I see someone straight down the hall.
Standing ahead,
Her hair bright and red,
Is Ms. Sparkles, in front of the wall.
I give her a quite happy “Hi!”
It’s been a long time, I won’t lie,
I stand on the rug,
My arms stretched in a hug,
I DISCOVER IT’S NOT HER AT ALL!

Startled, I walk right past.
She says, “Hi” as I walk away fast.
My cheeks turning pink,
I then start to think,
Oh, gee! I’m glad that is over at last!
