Where Life Is Hidden

Long ago, all life was tied to a certain triyalai called the Mirror of Life, except for an evildoer named Zada. Zada naturally thought the triyalai useless, so he developed a cunning plot to destroy it and rule the world. He crept into the village where the triyalai was hidden and snatched it away.

Meanwhile, the people of the Earth were devastated when they discovered what had been stolen. Nobody volunteered to go find it except for a young boy named Kurahne. He accordingly set out northwards, acquiring Kahari, a pesky young chimaera.

They were still heading northwards when Kahari saw some trees growing three times as tall as normal. The triyalai had the power to make all things that it reflected grow taller and stronger. The trail of growth led west, toward Harana Mountain. As they crossed the ocean to get there, they realized that they had only one day left before the triyalai exploded.

They slowly climbed the mountain, with many obstacles in their path like cliffs and icy lakes. They eventually found a lake with huge fish and huge insects in it, and lying facedown at the dead center of the lake was the triyalai. As they approached the lake, Zada ambushed them and tried to stop them, but he was defeated, tied up, and gagged with a passing rat.

Kahari knew that they had ten hours left to put the triyalai back on its pedestal before it burst into pieces and life faded. Kurahne dove into the frigid, cold water and brought the triyalai back out.

They quickly returned to the village, riding on two birds. Good, they still had one hour left. Kurahne raced to the center of the village and placed the triyalai back on the pedestal. As it was placed, the life suddenly came back to normal. There was no more suspense in the air or an unusual pale complexion to everything. Suddenly, fireworks shot up into the sky. Everyone cheered as they beheld the triyalai, safe and sound, back in its rightful place.
