Poetry Contest About Friends

It’s there. We both know. It’s
there, but we haven’t ever said
it’s true. We have never had a
conversation. Some best friends play
throw and catch. But we play
throw and fetch. We have no need
for playdates--we have sleepovers every
night. He eats dry brown food that
smells like feet. I--fruits, veggies,
carbohydrates, and meat. When it’s cold
outside, he has no need for a
coat. Yet, I do. And still, we are
best, best friends. That’s how it
will be until the very end.
