Mayhem on the Magic Stage

Izzy’s father told her she must never go into the woodshed. But one day Izzy couldn’t bear it. She flung open the shed door to see an old stage with curtains and everything! She pulled it out. But now she wanted to write a play!

Izzy wrote the play. But now she wanted to perform it! Izzy invited Mark and Julie over to perform it. Izzy was the princess, Mark was the knight, and Julie wanted to be the dragon.

Izzy started reading her lines. “What a beautiful garden grew this spring! And the castle is ready for my wedding!”

Something was different. Izzy looked up and saw an elaborate garden for many acres, and the house grew into a stone castle, and who should be there but Mother in a princess gown!

Izzy tried to get the attention of Mark and Julie, but they were reading scene four, the one where the knight is about to marry the princess when the dragon captures the princess!

Then soon appeared Father in armor, and then the words that Izzy had been dreading! “Save us all! The evil dragon has come to eat my bride!”

A loud roar made the three jump! A dragon was swooping for Mother!

“Help!” shouted Izzy as the dragon snatched them all up.

Mark screamed. Then Julie lit up. “I know!” She grabbed all three parts and read them as fast as she could.

“The End,” Julie finished, and then everything was back to normal. Izzy said she was sorry and never used that stage again.
