A Snowy Day in Fairyland

It was snowing in fairyland, and all the fairies were happy. The fairies were gathering up by the fire and telling winter stories.

It was getting colder, and Luna the little fairy princess had a big snowflake to carry back to the castle to decorate for the Winter Ball. The snowflake was too heavy for Luna to carry, so she decided to use the snowflake as a sled.

When Luna got to the castle, she had a crash, and the snowflake broke. Luna got in trouble with the King, who was her father, and she had to get another snowflake.

She had to climb Mount Fairiest once more, but this time in a blizzard. All the other fairies were still telling stories by the fire, sipping hot cocoa.

Luna climbed and climbed until she slipped on black ice that was covering a hole in the ground. She went inside the hole, and a golden light caught her eye. She slipped once more and got her silky white dress a little wet. Her shiny white wings felt nub from walking too much in the cold. The light got brighter and brighter until she found the prettiest snowflake in her life! It was shiny and golden and was in a glass case. Luna carefully took off the lid and took the snowflake out.

She walked down Mount Fairiest and walked into the castle. When she put the snowflake down, nobody was there. She took the snowflake and went up to her room. Luna went inside her room and turned on her firefly lamp and gently put the snowflake in the middle of her bed and sat down.

Suddenly, from every hiding place in her room all of her fairy friends and family popped out and shouted, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” It was so loud that Luna jumped up and screamed and realized they were having the Ball because of her birthday.

The Ball was so fun that Luna couldn’t stop dancing all night. Luna finally went to bed very happy.
