Pages of Pleasure

When my mind is in the clutches of frustration,
So serenely my place calls to me.
Readily, I let myself fall into a magical world.
The pages encompass me in an ocean of sentences.
I am whisked away into the writer’s head, into the writer’s world—
Kings tower over those who are poor,
Evergreens are topped with icy snow,
Wands pointed,
Breaths held,
People and cities, life, a universe, all created with words.
The answer to my dilemma bobs up and down
Then surfaces in a sea of words.
I seize it from the billowing waves,
My mind no longer torn between wrong or right.
I am calm and at peace,
Ready for the challenges that lie in my path.
As I close the book, one world disappears,
And the other comes into sight, still full of problems waiting to be solved.
