The Tree

When I am angered
I stomp to my secret spot
And begin to climb

High in the branches
I gaze at the floating clouds
Mind suddenly calmed

Watching a beetle
Scuttling along a twig
Dissolves all my rage

Noticing birdsong
Coming from the higher boughs
My mind relaxes

I slowly stroll inside
Body in a state of peace,
My anger no more
