Mother Turtle

Once a year,
She makes a journey
Across the shining sea
To the place where
Miracles have happened again and again

She slowly comes out of the water
Goes all the way up the sand
Makes a hole
Just deep enough

Her eggs slowly come
One by one

With a flipper she covers them up,
Then joins the vast ocean again
Till one day
When Mother Turtle will return
