You Are the Sun to My Tree

I remember the vision like it was just yesterday.
The cold darkness was slowly cornering me,
I had nothing to protect me as those dreadful feelings of fear took over me
then, before I knew it, it was morning and I saw your rays of happiness shine above me.
Now I find myself looking back at those moments
and I’m thinking,
“I would not be who I am today without you.”
I can’t imagine a world without you,
one where you don’t smile at me from the sky
or help guide me through this crazy adventure called “life.”
Now here I am at this exact moment,
standing taller than I ever have before.
All because of you and your radiant rays
that make me feel elated.
So I thank you for everything you have done for me
even thought you’re gone for some mysterious reason during night,
I know that you will always be with me to keep me safe.
