Oh, I Wish I Were a Dragon

Oh, I wish I were a dragon,
Scales so bright and lustrous
Breath of fire, or if I desire,
Chilly, freezy ice!

Oh, I wish I were a dragon,
Sharp spikes on tail and neck
Two sets of wings, or maybe three
It’s all up to me!

Oh, I wish I were a dragon,
I’ll eat you up—one bite!
Teeth and claws tear things to shreds,
Don’t get out of bed!

Oh, I wish I were a dragon,
Loot I’ve cached is endless
I make my bed on gems and gold
Try to take it? That’s so bold!

Oh, I wish I were a dragon,
With my own cavelike lair
Venture forth to my dark crypt
And you might die if unequipped

Oh, now I am a dragon
Transformed by my desire
For Halloween, be sure to run
To me, the hunt is so much fun . . .
