Old Rusty

An old horse is working,
he’s plowing along.
His master is singing
an old country song.

Dusk is nearing,
down slips the sun.
But on plods the horse,
the work not quite done.

His master’s now humming
a lighthearted tune.
The plowing is finished
by the light of the moon.

The barn lights are glowing
as old Rusty eats.
Outside it’s blustery,
inside he sleeps.
