The Mysterious Night

As clouds cover the moon,
A hoot comes from a tree as an owl awakens,
A mouse scuttles out not knowing its doom.
Creatures dart past,
In a world of shadows,
Where animals lurk in tall grass.
A howl sends shivers down the spine,
The air is filled with a shrill whine.
Raccoons appear in large crowds
To play in the cover of darkness.
When moonlight passes through the clouds,
A deer is illuminated, pursued by a coyote.
Rabbits begin appearing,
As dawn approaches,
And fireflies illuminate the sky with their light,
All the animals begin disappearing,
As the lights and colors of dawn
Glitter the sky
At the end of this eventful and mysterious night.
