To Cast a Spell

If I could cast one spell on myself, what would it be?
Would I choose to fly high with the birds in the sky?
To turn invisible, sneaky, and sly?
To breathe in the water, just like a fish?
To be able to grant someone’s wish?
To run so fast at the speed of light?
To make new friends and lovers alike?
Which to take, which to earn from?
Which wizard, which witch to learn from?
Ah! I know what I would take
To make my life a piece of cake . . .
In conversation, verse, or song,
I’d know which words are right and wrong
At any time, night or day,
I would know just what to say!
Fluctuate or cornucopia,
Humbug, dumb bug, onomatopoeia,
They will come, the words will flow,
Solving problems, mending wars,
We’ll live in peace, joy to the world!
All because of my spell and my perfect word.
