The best things about
the holiday meets
are the foods that we get
and the things we can eat.

The sugar and candy,
hot chocolate and brandy,
soft fudge and warm cider.
Who cares if we’re wider?

The sweet apple pies that
bring us pure delight.
The pudding-like batter.
Don’t mind if I’m fatter!

Yet all of these things
that I’ve searched for and found,
I’ve eaten them, eaten them,
and I’m only fifty-nine pounds.
