New Poetry Contest: Holiday Magic

Submitted by: Anna W., age 10, Vacaville, CA

One single snowflake begins to awake,
the spirit of Christmas for all.

Hear choir voices singing, silver bells ringing,
carols play reruns in my head.

A beautiful tree, decked in tinsel and lights
banishes all family bickers and slights.

Who would have known that one thoughtful gift
would give cheer and joy such a wonderful lift?

The nativity set on the dining room table
gives me a feeling it’s not just a fable.

Dinner is a feast, not small in the least,
and family togetherness calls.

The stars how they twinkle, the bells, they still tinkle,
Christmas spirit is strong.

It’s amazing to me, how one baby boy
could bring a whole world incomparable joy.
