New Poetry Contest: At the Library

Libraries

Every time I enter a library
It fills me with a sense of joy
Thousands of books,
All ready to be read
By readers of all ages
Ready to light a spark
Inside,
Filling your heart
With wonder
Feeding your brain
Millions of characters
That will always be a part of you
Characters
That are brave, creative, funny,
All the traits that you could ever wish for
That is what a library is.
A place
Where you can set aside your
Worries and your differences,
Filling an empty space in your soul
That was waiting for a friend
And it has found one.
Where would we be without
The joy of libraries?
