New Poetry Contest: At the Library

My Bookshelf

My bookshelf is the best
At first when I was little
I could not read at all
My mother read to me a lot
And my head was full of pictures
Then I got a little older
And went to second grade
I could read now
O so much
Soon my little library
Was full of chapter books
Curled up on my beanbag
I read and read all day
Until the sun had died away
I always want to see what’s next
But Mom says No, time for bed
At night when I’m in bed I tell my mom
My bookshelf is the best
