Web Bonus Poetry Contest: Open Theme

Alone
Waves lap the shore.
The sand is damp and dark.
A girl walks along the sand.
All alone.
A towel is around her shoulders.
The corner trails in the
sand leaving a
path.
The ocean calls her
name.
But she does not join it.
The seashells look up at her,
longing for her to pick them up.
But she does not.
She feels
lonely.
Then, she looks back and
smiles.
Her feet have left footprints in the dark sand.
What a peaceful
sight.
Then, the ocean comes
And washes all the footprints
away.
