Out of the Mist
Out of the mist a blackbird flies;
Its frail wings beat against the mighty skies.

A sign of hope, or fear, or loss,
Or obstacles that one must cross.

The bird's an emblem of the past,
Of things forgotten or just cast.

Its beady eyes stare towards the North,
Its body following thenceforth;

For one must stare into the eyes of one's goal
To achieve it and to play their role.
