Masterpiece

A blank canvas,
a blank page.
My brain is empty,
nothing’s there . . .
but then, POOF!
An idea.
I grab the paintbrush
and off it goes
like an escapee
that’s running from
a police patrol.
When it’s done
it slows its run
and it has created a masterpiece
to look at
for years to come.
