A Night at Summer Camp

If I could pause time at this beautiful moment,
The notes of guitars lingering in air,
I would look at all of the joyful faces,
All of them willing their voices to share.

The crickets’ loud chirps would sound through the woods,
And the blazing red flames of the campfire’d burn hot.
If I sniffed I would smell the scent of the pines
That tower above this magical spot.

Now this paradisiacal moment in time
I am saving forever to keep in my mind,
So years from now I can hear, smell, and see
This wonderful time that was special to me.
