New Poetry Contest: Summer Night

Submitted by: Chiara T., age 11, Cincinnati, OH

Thunderstorms

Dark clouds cover stars,
Deep booms come from afar.
A bright flash
Lights up the sky,
Moon disappearing
From way up high .
Sheets of water
Fall from the sky.
Clouds darkening,
Beginning to cry,
A loud crash!
A bright flash,
The warm night,
Becoming humid fast.
The storm is here.
And thenit’s gone . . .
The sky is clear.
