Peaceful Summer Nights

The beautiful summer sky
stretches on and on.
At night,
the stars peek out.
I try to count them:
one, two, three . . .
four hundred!
I lose count
as the beauty unfolds.
The air is warm.
The sky is calm.
The stars are quiet.
The night itself
is peaceful.
Sweet.
Still.
Good.
