Places I Wish to Go

Majestic mountains that graze the sky,
Golden plains of grass,
Lakes that shimmer with light,
And forests of emerald trees.

A million places I wish to go,
From the beautiful Alaska
With its dancing auroras
And numerous wildlife.

Or the cultured India,
With its many languages,
Festivals, religions, and spices,
And the enchanting Taj Mahal.

Oh, the possibilities are endless!
With Paris and its Eiffel Tower,
Scrumptious pastries and cheese,
And its dazzling fashion.

Or you can be whisked away to China,
Its extended Great Wall,
Its long history, aromas of fare,
Dances and plays of folktales.

Alas, I sit in my room,
Far from all these wonders,
Only able to dream of
The places I wish to go.
