Children of the Sea

The waves crash
the sun soars
seagulls peck
at the rocky shores

Under the rocks
crabs scuttle and slide
making their homes
close to the tide

Schools of fish
swim to and fro
their colors give the water
a beautiful glow

The shark hunts its prey
under the water
sometimes a crab
or a simple sea otter

Seaweed and kelp
float by in the tide
an octopus follows, sees me
and goes back to his hide

I glide on the surf
I swim in the water
I see a big fish
I jump like an otter
