Detective Parrot and the Case of the Stolen Cheese

One day Izzy was home sick. While doing a puzzle in the living room, she noticed her parrot, Vizcaya, and her chameleon, Evelyn, wearing weird detective hats. “H’mm, that’s strange. I’ve never seen Evelyn and Vizcaya wearing those little hats before,” Izzy said to herself. “Something odd is going on, and I’m going to figure out what.”

Izzy followed Vizcaya and Evelyn to a tiny detective office. The parrot and chameleon headed inside, but Izzy secretly peered through a tiny round window instead.

She heard Vizcaya call you, “Where should we search for clues about the missing cheese first, Evelyn?”

“The crime scene, of course!” exclaimed Evelyn. “Now let’s head to Chester the cheese collector’s house to do some investigating about that stolen cheese at the crime scene.”

When the detectives arrived at Chester’s house, they found a trail of seeds. Izzy followed the detectives as they followed the clues. The trail finally ended at a clump of grass. They suspiciously peeked behind the grass and found . . . “The cheese thieves!” cried Vizcaya and Evelyn together.

“EEK!” squeaked two hamsters. “Run!” the hamsters yelled.

“After them!” exclaimed Vizcaya and Evelyn in unison.

Izzy had no idea this was what her pets did while she was gone. Then Izzy realized this was her time to act. She ran up in front of the hamsters and blocked their path. Evelyn and Vizcaya cornered the hamsters, and they were surrounded.

“Fine, we surrender,” squeaked one hamster as the other one handed over the cheese.

Then Izzy exclaimed, “Hey, I know you two! You’re my hamsters, Emma and Miley. You little rascals know better than to steal!”

Izzy escorted Emma and Miley back to the cage where she usually kept them and made sure they  couldn’t escape to steal others’ belongings anymore. Then she and the detectives went to Chester’s house and returned the cheese. And after that Emma and Miley never stole again.

The case is closed.
