The Spider Hides, the Spider Waits

The spider hides
The spider waits
Behind her sticky silken gates

The spider creeps
With silent zeal
Toward unsuspecting insect meal

The spider leaps
With toxic bite
The insect has no strength to fight

The spider drags
The spider feasts
Away from dinner-stealing beasts

The spider hides
Again she waits
Behind her sticky silken gates

The spider bides
In satin steel
For next unwary insect meal

Author’s Note:
The spider’s not
A bug at all
But this faux pas is very small
