Armor-Coated Dilemma
In the days of yore
The knights, armor wore.

Clad in metal
They did battle.

It worked pretty well,
Unless they fell.

Thrown to the ground,
Death was soon to be found.

A bug’s exoskeleton
Serves armor’s function.

The outer shell can take a fierce blow,
Keeping the bug whole and safe below.

But a crack in the shell
Is a sure death knell.

Insects use an exoskeleton,
If it breaks, the bug’s life is done.

However, a frame of bones like ours
Allows a chance for healing powers.

Bones that bend
Might just mend.

An exoskeleton is super strong
But there is no repairing what might go wrong.

Bones on the inside,
Bones on the outside,
Is one better? I can’t decide!
