My Christmas Tree

My Christmas tree, so big and bright,
A welcoming and cheerful sight,
Towering, at grand height,
Casting below its warmth and light.

Each ornament, hung with care,
Reminiscing on who put them there,
Some alive and some now gone,
But their legacy lives on,
Attached to the ornament, a twinkling jewel,
Hanging from the branches in a pool
Of evergreen, and specks of color,
As the jewels twinkle with one another.

At the top, a single light
Is on display with all its might.
The star on top, it points just right,
Into the north like the star shines so bright.

This holy holiday is here,
And with it brings us cheer,
But my favorite part might just be
The presence of my Christmas tree.
