Piedemonium (A Real Family Tradition)

Every year
around November
A tradition comes
that’s always remembered

It’s not a turkey
roasted and stuffed
Nor knitted sweaters
itchy and rough

I’ll give you a hint

Come on, blurt it out!
On the count of 3:

1-2-3-  Pie!
in excessive amounts
Apple, pumpkin, pecan
Say “desserts?” we pounce

As shadows start to blanket
the evening night
We’re full of laughter
