The True Meaning of Christmas

The aroma of cinnamon spreads through your house
Snowflake sand gingerbread prints on your blouse
The best time of year
The time when people are bursting with holiday cheer.
Singing carols till your throat is hoarse,
But continue singing, of course
Bundling up in fuzzy warm coats
Hot chocolate goes down your throat
Baking cookies for you to devour
Snatching some dough when your mom says, “Wait an hour.”
Hanging ornaments on your beloved green tree
All the while laughing merrily
Putting up stockings to get some treats
Candy canes, chocolates, those delicious sweets.
Did you know there is something more special?
Someone came to save us when we were not able.
He came as an infant, born in a stable.
He lived perfectly like none of us can.
Yet he died. But that was part of his plan.
Jesus, that man, died because of love.
Because he loves you and wants you to live with him for eternity up above.
So when you are baking or singing or just having fun
Remember the true meaning of Christmas: Jesus, God’s only Son.
