A Big Difference from Something So Small

A heart full of sadness.
A heart mourning.
A heart sorrowful.

A sound. Weeping.
Agonizing weeping.
If only.

If only someone
would understand.
Listen.
Be there.

But alas,
no someone.
Just weeping.
And sorrow.
And loneliness.

Piercing loneliness.
But look! Look up, look down.
Just plain gray . . .

And then something.
A small flower.
So small, yet the best friend,
For a lonely moment.

Sadness. Mourning. Loneliness.
But now . . . Hope.
