Magical Doctor

"Wake up, Sara! We're going to be late for your doctor's appointment," shouted Sara's mother.

"No, I don't want to go," yelled Sara. "She will give me a shot, and I don't like shots."

"Today you will see a new doctor, and if you're really good, she will give you a lollipop," coaxed her mother. She persuaded Sara to brush her teeth, take a bath, and change her clothes.

When the two arrived at the doctor's office, Sara slowly walked in behind her mother. The nurse checked Sara's height and weight and placed them in an examination room. After some time Dr. Marina entered the room with a warm smile on her face. Sara scampered behind her mother.

"Hello, Sara, how are you today?" greeted the doctor. Sara was silent. "All my patients are my friends, and I would like to be your friend," said the doctor in a comforting tone. Sara continued to hide.

Suddenly there was a bright light. Sara peered at Dr. Marina from behind her mother and saw a beautiful fairy. The fairy's wings were illuminated as if the light of the moon were shining. The sparkles on her white dress looked like miniature stars. Her eyes shone brightly and her shoes were a dainty blue.

"Wow!" Sara exclaimed as she hopped forward. "You're a magical doctor!" The doctor gently examined Sara. Sara was amazed, since she had never seen a doctor like this before.

"You seem like a healthy young girl," the doctor told Sara. "Are you going to be my friend now?" Sara's eyes beamed as she nodded up and down. The doctor changed back into her normal self and handed Sara a lollipop.

"You're an amazing magical doctor. "I can't wait to come and see you again," said Sara happily.

"I look forward to seeing you again, too," responded the doctor as she left the room.

At school Sara told all her friends about the doctor who could turn into magical characters her patients liked. Dr. Marina's talent made it easy for many sick children to feel comfortable in the doctor's office.
